About Us

Essex Ambulance Service was formed in 2019. Proprietor, Bill McKenna has had major roles within the ambulance industry, servicing & maintaining NHS Trust vehicles for over 20 years. Providing Emergency Response Vehicles was the natural route to take as part of his progression plan.

 Gary Campbell was appointed as Managing Director, with full responsibility of ensuring the services provided are managed safely and effectively. Julie Clarke joined the company in February 2020, as assistant Manager and takes care of training, compliance, and staff welfare, February 2020 Essex Ambulance Service gained their registration with CQC.

 

 Both Gary & Julie are qualified Emergency Medical Technicians, with over 35 years of Ambulance experience, both having worked on frontline contracts within the NHS.

Essex Ambulance Service takes every detail in to consideration, is the patient able to walk or do they need assistance or perhaps they are wheelchair reliant. Or in need of a specially equipped bariatric vehicle, they may require a High Dependency Unit (HDU) which gives a higher level of clinical care. Our role is transporting the patient in a caring, effective, well led, and safe manner.

 

All our staff are trained to a very high standard, with full enhanced DBS checks completed. Ensuring we can provide the very best in patient transport care.

 

All Essex Ambulance Staff are covered by multiple indemnity and malpractice policies should any problems arise.

 

The company currently operates various types of vehicle which includes RRV’s, 4 X 4’s, WAV’s, PTS & Frontline vehicles (see our Vehicle page)
